Thumbs Up!

Thumbs up for Chris being done with the bar exam! Here are the before and after shots of Mel's broken thumb and then mended with a new nail growing in ~ coming along fine. The after really isn't thumbs down so much as getting in position to do some awesome shadows on the wall. This is a thumbs up day.

Temple work done!

So, if you've never been to Young Women's camp with Pueblo Stake you don't realize that it doesn't matter what time of the summer you go, you work ALL year to that point to get ready for it. This year we go July 30th to Aug. 3rd so up until this point in the year, the focus has been camp. I have spent the last month painting a (we'll call it large -12ft. x 24ft.) Arizona Temple in preparation for 5 seconds of the last night program and am continuing to gather equipment for FUN activities, rotations, lip syncs, evening programs and the like. I really do love to go to camp. I must, I tell myself, as I try to push my aching neck and back(whine) into an upright position. Anyway, all ya all (as Evon Martin used to say) don't need Eden around to lose your camera. I took a picture of Dad's recovering(?) thumb nail that looks SO cool and promptly can't find it, therefore no picture with this post. I was so mad that I couldn't find it to take a picture of a SQUIRREL that was in our back yard yesterday. How bizarre is that? We have a squirrel and a wood pecker.

Today I painted of a callig thing for Elaine Stradling so that she would loan me 12 wigs. So thanks Emily for talking to me in my panic, but 12 ought to cover it. I cut out five skirts for Nicole's step sister's wedding, tried to do majic on a dress that's too tight for a girl in my ward (still needs some majic) and stitched up a little quilt for another girl whose tension if off. I think my tension is on, and maybe the title for this post should also be "RSV 2". Do you wonder where my kids get their randomness? Do you think Laur Laur is getting rained on at camp? Hope you all have a great day!

Auditions anyone?

The other night as our company was leaving, I commented on how I love to hear the locusts sing. As they stepped out the door, little Corwin (perfect name for the little guy) tried to come on in the house. I quickly closed the door, explaining that we weren't having auditions. He hung around until morning and was joined by Goliath. Aaahhh! What do you think I should do? Go ahead with the auditions while Oakley is here to accompany or pray for sea gulls?

Go ahead, enlarge this so you can see why Goliath wants to try out for the bass part. Actually, I am very grateful that my bug man is coming today.

Thank you Ione, wherever you may be!

This man makes me so happy. I need to thank his mother and father for, a)wanting another child after having two previous perfect children and, b) going through many long years of ear aches, work lists, and church upbringing to make him the man that he is. So, Thank you Ione.
Jake is seriously in the middle of National Board-arama for podiatry today so here's his birthday wish: Dad, your jokes are the very best! Have a rip snortin' day!

Chris and Beth are world travelers. This is what they have to say about birthdays.

Feliz Cumpleanos! Manuialou aso fanau! FrohlicherGeburtstag! Tanjobi omedeto! Gratulerer med dagen! Saengilul ch'ukhahamnida! Who knows how to say it in Finnish? Any way you say it, we all want to say Happy Birthday to you!

"Remember you are on a journey to exaltation. Sometimes you have experiences that yield more happiness than others, but it all has purpose with the Lord." ~Richard G. Scott

Today is a really good day. The kind that makes me want to sing, "I am happy today for the sunshine, for the skies of gray or blue, for within my heart is the song of love, I'll live, I'll work, I'll do."
