She always had the prettiest yard. I'll never forget her kindness towards my family when we first moved in. She was there to meet us the day we moved in. What a great family!
You know, I find myself talking to her when I'm playing in the dirt. We carry on quite the conversation. Sometimes Grandma Payne joins in. Maybe that's why I love yard work--it's never a lonely endeavor. Thanks for the reminder--are those her Calla lilies? I think mine are remnants of the original. . .
Thank you so much for letting me steal some of your Calla lilies so I can be remember Grandma Jones and her amazing garden. I hope my garden can be half as pretty as hers.
Yes, the Calla lilies came from Ione. Mel rototilled a couple of years ago after I thought I'd got them all out, but apparently not because we have a million now, so if anyone would like to have some, say so. We also have some beautiful purple bearded iris that supposedly originated from a gift Grandpa John Jones gave to Grandpa Lee Jacob Huber. What a cool heritage, aye? Anyone want starts of those, you're welcome to them too. I love both because they thrive so well on neglect, and do even better with a little love.

I miss Grandma and her flowers! Thanks for keeping that tradition going down in Mesa.
